Hurricane “Bad Luck” for the Genesiers

I thought I was brave. I thought I was invincible. I thought my family would never get hurt. My brain has now exploded. I am not the person I used to be. Maybe it’s just meant to be. Maybe it’s not my fault. Nobody knows anything anymore. The world has flipped around.
My friend and I are jumping on the tramp together. It’s the best day of my life so far. Who knew that everything that I dreamed of and loved was going to get taken away. I think that all my dreams are going to come true and they are the biggest. I think I am perfect. On the tramp, Clarissa was practicing her back handspring.
“Clarissa, your mom wants you to go home! And Alex Grandma Genesier is coming over next week.” Mom said. I grimaced.

I hadn't realized how tired I really was. After closing my eyes for a minute or two, I heard the patter of raindrops on the ground, on the trampoline, and it biting my skin. As I looked over, the wet grass looked as if it was a dangerous as a surging, freezing river. As I ran through trying to get into the house, I felt the wind almost blow me off my feet. Because of that, I ran inside faster than a hummingbird flapping its wings. While flipping on the television to watch the forecast, I settled onto the poop colored couch. Don’t judge, you would say it too if you saw it. Lissy, my dog, trotted in and settled on the couch beside me. It seems that Dad was most likely watched the tv last (the channel is on METV) Either way, the news is on EVERY channel. The TV all the sudden went black. The wind howled. Something fell outside. This time the forecast wasn’t wrong. The biggest hurricane since Hurricane Ike in 2008 was about to happen.
At that moment I realized Clair was still outside, walking home. I ran outside to look for Clarissa. If she got hurt it would be all my fault. As I came out all I remember is looking straight at a lamppost in front of me. I heard a scream that sounded familiar. Maybe it was mine. Maybe it was Dad’s, Mom’s, or Clarissa’s. The scream sounded faint though. The lamppost wasn’t stamped into the dirt-packed ground; it was flying straight toward me. It reminded me of a sallow pink, flying, gold-throwing pig right before everything

I…” Lissy wined. Her foot was injured. “No, no, no, Lissy!”
“It’s ok, Lexi, Eric said she was going to be absolutely fine and maybe even better,” my mom said pointing to the head storm rescuer. Eric waved. My tear ducts seemed to grow seven times their size and I started breathing and crying so hard I felt as though I was going to faint. All the sudden Clarissa bumped into me almost pushing me off.
“Woah!”
Clarissa quickly apologized,”Sorry, Something's under the boat.” We hopped onto the real boat, got the supplies , and quickly inspected the boat. Under it came a middle-aged woman: Clarissa’s mom. “MOM! Are you ok!” Clarissa screamed while pulling her in the boat.
“Well, it’s a reunion,” I mumbled under my unhygienic, stinky breath. As everybody got fed, drank, and got warm, the boat got to the “hospital” where everybody was cared for(including the dog). Since my bad experiences, I went with Clarissa, my family to go help in Florida with Hurricane Irma. Now my story is on the news and I will work hard to be the best hurricane fighter in
