I never knew what true power was, well until a couple years ago when I was contacted by Tyler Rodriguez. I don't remember what he asked, but I guess I was in a rough place so I accepted. I seemed to have a very specific skill set that he needed, genetics. But in the late 80s no one cared about genetics, well that was with one exception. The government funded genetics company Cadmus had been my first employer. They asked me a simple question come and work for us and we will pay you any amount you ask. Under one condition, I couldn't tell anyone, talk to anyone, or see anyone for however long it took. They didn't tell me what I'd be doing or for how long but I took my chances. They were both familiar to him, places he had been before. He walked through the thick underbrush as he got closer to his target. At night it was impossible to see more than a couple feet in front of you, but it wasn't a problem he didn't need to see we're he was going to reach his destination. Within minutes he had reached a clearing in the forest. It was a road and at the end a military settlement. He could here yelling a saw a burly man in a uniform shouting orders in Spanish. He crept through the base toward a shed in the center. Once he reached it and broke the lock he slowly opened the door. The room was pitch black, instead of the moonlight pouring into the room to create a black outline on the thing he was after. A beast so large it could carry a man off into nowhere. As it turned to face him he could see its piercing red eyes staring straight at him. And within a second it made its move.it grabbed him by the shirt and carried him up into the sky. It's massive bat-like body lifted him higher and higher into the air his shirt started tearing and the beast started slowing. It couldn't keep up much longer, than he realized that it wasn't as big as he thought. It was a juvenile and it couldn't go much longer, so within seconds they had stopped flying and started to fall. Kaitlin asked how many people he had killed which he always responded with 0. He debriefed with good old dad, telling him every detail of his 7 month trip. How many creatures he had dealt with, the attention he had brought to himself, etc.? Finally after he had talked everyone to death he decided it was about time to go to sleep. As he was getting ready to lie down he got a knock on his door. It was his father, he spoke “Sithon don't get to comfortable you, Nolan, and Kaitlin are heading to Peru in a few days". Before he could protest he had already left. That's when he remembered what his life was all about. Hunting and killing the elusive and dangerous creatures that threatened man-kind. His father was a wealthy man who trained them from birth and sent them on their missions to the most remote corners of the planet.
