Jarvis -- just an average 4-year-old -- slid down the staircase railing to the fridge. His curly, strawberry brown hair was now messy from the air blowing in his face down the stairs. He knew he wasn’t supposed to eat this close to dinner, but he couldn’t take it anymore. It had been almost 3 and a half hours since he last ate! How can anyone live like this? Jarvis wondered. He opened the fridge, but what he saw was worse than anything he’d heard about -- There were no snacks in the fridge! “Mommy!” He shouted, as his mother came into the kitchen. “Jarvis!” She yelled back, with a playful tone. “What do you need, my little shining star?” “Mommy, there isn’t no food in the fridge!” Jarvis answered. He immediately started walking towards it, not hearing his mother turn around their cart saying, “Let’s go check out, Jarvis.” Jarvis stepped up onto the lowest shelf and grabbed the

Jarvis turned around, “Mommy, look what I -- “ He paused and his face turned as white as fresh fallen snow. “Mommy? Mommy?” Jarvis turned back around, spun in a circle, walked down the aisle. He couldn’t find her anywhere.
“Mommy! Where did you go?” Whined Jarvis. He sat on the floor next to the granola bars. Be brave, Jarvis. He heard a voice say. Your mom is out there! Find her! You are a hero! He didn’t know who had said that or why they knew him, but he took their
