This person is about the age of 13 or 14. His name is Titus. He is just another student to some, but to others he is a friend. He has a short, but very fat body. The size of Titus’s fingers look as if he has ten fat sausages on his hands, five on each. If someone was to guess what this student did in his free time they would say he eats, sleeps and plays video games for a living. Some would say this student is like a domesticated animal, he gets food, sleeps a lot and is cooped up in a room for long periods of time. His double XL sweatshirt fit nicely on his rather short but large body. On the front of the sweatshirt it read in big white letters “BEAST”. Beast…domesticated animal? This story writes itself. Never again would he eat spoiled bologna before going to sleep. He got himself up out of bed and walked out of his room, past the bathroom, and into the kitchen. He would go another day without showering. Starting the day off right, Titus grabbed the largest bowl he could find. He filled the bowl to the brim with his favorite sugary cereal, and began to pour in the milk. Titus grabbed a ladle form the drawer and began eating his breakfast. He finished the cereal minutes later. “Time to start my day!” said Titus smiling from ear to ear while milk was dripping down his double chin.
He wiped the milk off clean with his sleeve and grunted as he got out of his chair. Titus finally managed to get his short 300-pound body in motion. He walked a few steps down the hallway and passed by a window, as he looked out he saw some young boys his age playing basketball in the street.

Titus Andronicus¬ begins with two brothers campaigning for the recently vacated title of Roman Emperor. While the scene comes close to a violent outburst, no blood is shed. In Taymor’s Titus, this scene occurs later in the timeline. Instead, we are greeted immediately with an up-tempo song and a bit of classic American/European imagery. The setting is a small suburban kitchen, with a…

In Merle Temple’s (2018), A Ghostly Shade of Pale, the book tells the story of Temple’s career as an undercover Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agent during the 1970s at the height of the war on drugs. Although the names and some of the places have been changed to protect the identities of former agents and criminals, this book has a lot of strengths and weaknesses. Some of the most notable strengths are the settings or locations, because it is based in Mississippi, which for Mississippi natives, grabs their attention and allows them to relate more to the book. Another strength lies in Temple’s ability to use very vivid imagery in descriptions of places.…

Dawn broke to an explosion of bird songs, the cacophony startling Booker awake with a disgruntled groan. Unimpressed by the early morning alarm clock, he angrily pulled his pillow over his head and attempted to drown out the noise. But after several minutes, the humorous fact that the sound easily penetrated through the downy feathers brought a good-natured smile to his lips, and with a resigned sigh, he threw the pillow to the floor and sat up. From across the room, Tom yawned loudly, a sleepy smile spreading across his face.…

He rubbed the sleep from his eyes, and stifling a yawn, he threw back the blanket and looked around his apartment. “Hey, sleepyhead.” Booker stood leaning against the kitchen counter, a cup of coffee in his hand.…
