Standing on the curb, Veronica pulled her jacket tighter against the breeze, and exhaled the slightest bit when the charger came into view. Through the car’s heavy tint, she couldn’t see the driver exactly, but the effortlessly smug look from the driver’s seat when she climbed in was instantly familiar. Hands at her sides, feeling the seat’s leather as he peeled away from the curb, Veronica had to miss the bike, a little. Sure, the threat of death rang less imminent, even in the seat termed ‘shotgun,’ but oddly enough, sharing a console felt more intimate than the physical proximity of sharing the motorcycle. “Are you gonna tell me what this is about?”…

Almost “I take it this isn’t your neck of the woods? ”, said Detective Frank as he lead Peyton into the small interrogation room. Peyton’s eyes scanned the room; pastel-blue walls, crackled cement flooring, a round table, one plastic chair and florescent lighting. Peyton subtlety smirked after noticing its astonishing resemblance to the Law & Order interrogation room. “Please, make yourself comfy”.…

“Would you like to come over?” I can vividly remember her voice inquiring. Its high pitched tone could only belong to one individual: Ashley Edmondson. Over the next few years we would become inseparable, but in that moment we had only known each other for a few weeks. I had recently moved to Illinois, so the prospect of having one solid friend led me to enthusiastically agree.…

Outside the diner, a black pickup rolled to a stop while I peered out the window at the drizzling rain, a constant in the sleepy little town of Forks. If I were honest with myself, I didn’t believe that he would show up, even after conceding to meet him at his request; however, there he was getting out of his truck, striding determinedly to the diner’s door. Shortly after the bell over the front door jingled, he stood next to my booth at the back of the diner at our appointed time. “You showed up.” I glanced up from my lunch before shrugging my shoulders nonchalantly, since I was never easily impressed.…

Rumors had been circulating about William the Bloody throwing his lot in with the Slayer, and it wasn 't doing wonders for his popularity in Sunnydale. However, it did make for some pretty good fights. As far as he knew, Buffy had spent at least one night in the hospital, and he supposed the next three resting. Scarcely expecting to see her tonight, he was surprised when she pulled an attacking vamp off of him.…

Wind bustled through the branches of the trees, making the leaves howl in their symphony. Walking along the gravel path in the woods makes you realize how intricate the clash between weather and nature can be. Two natural forces both in harmony and constantly fighting.
