I was walking down the street on my way to the library, and when I turned the corner, I saw something I never want to see again. A young man was being beaten by three guys in black hoodies, the hoods up covering most of their faces. I opened my mouth to say something, but all that came out was a very loud scream. They turned around and saw me and sprinted down a back alley.
I ran over to the bloody and bruised man. He was breathing very heavily. I asked him, "Are you all right?"
He looked me in the eyes as if he could see into my soul, and I felt as if I've known him my whole life. "I think so. Thank you," he replied.
"I was just on my way to the library, and then I saw you here. Wait, what's your name?" I asked.
"Don't you remember me?"

"No, I don't remember you" I answered. That question sort of disturbed me, but I acted as if it didn't matter, even though it did.
"Ow!" he said in pain.
"Oh, sorry," I apologized.
He said, "I'm all right. That sure isn't going to kill if that fight didn't kill me."
"How did that fight start, anyway?" I asked.
"Oh, it was just some boys from school. They've been tormenting me because I asked a beautiful girl to the dance last week, and she said no."
"Oh, I'm so sorry. Maybe the girl had a reason," I said.
“She looked a lot like you actually," he explained, getting up and brushing himself off.
"Oh, really?" I asked. Wait, he asked her out last week. A guy asked me out last week!
"Yeah. Well, I better get going. Bye, and thanks," he said walking

"Where do you go to school?" I asked.
"LCI. Why?" he replied.
"Did you ask out a girl named Sierra?" I asked.
"Yes, why are you asking?"
"Well, I'm Sierra," I said.
"Why did you say no to me?" he asked.
"Well, I guess I made a mistake when you asked me, because a guy I liked was standing down the hall. I'm sorry. And now that I know you, I will go with you," I answered.
"Really?" he asked.
"Yes, I will." I smiled.
Two weeks later at the dance, Alex and I were standing by the refreshment table. "I'm really glad you said yes," he said.
"I am too," I replied.
"Shall we dance?" he

The Last Ride Gidal awoke from his short-lived rest, his eyelids - peeled apart to reveal a scene that was none too familiar to him. He had been on the same train for three days, the sound of train wheels clanging was just white-noise. The outside world, only visible through small cracks in the wooden carriage. He was a Jew, like the other seventy who had been herded carelessly into cattle cars, treated as if they were animals – pests. He went to peer out one of the small cracks, pushing his way through the thick sea of hushed murmuring and melancholy faces.…

I kneeled down on the roof of an abandoned apartment, watching my next prey. I aimed the SR25 American sniper at the person’s head, click goes the sound of the trigger, before I could look up I saw my victim's body lying limp on fresh concrete with at a puddle of blood surrounding them and one perfect bullet hole through their head. Bystanders immediately pulled out their phones forming a circle around the body. I picked up the sniper, slung it around my back and walked down the steps of the building. Ahaankti: Ahaan & Pankti I took a day off at work because of the pouring rain outside, so I am the only person in the house. The dark grey colored sky outside pushes light just far enough into the corners of my house to see my way to the living room without turning a light on. There is no chattering in the house because I am alone, no air conditioning hum, or no flickering fluorescent lights. I sit down slowly on the couch beside the window quietly thrilled at the novelty of being alone, absorbing the quiet, the empty spaces in the room, and watching the birds find its way to the nest. Just then I saw a rabbit outside and I can tell that rabbit had nowhere to go, so I went outside the door to help the rabbit.…
