"Shut your mouth, you little bitch or I'll shut it for you."

"I've got something to shut it with." Duane released the teenager's legs when the reached the ground floor and, as Carlos pinned her arms to her side from behind with her back to his chest and feet dangling in the air, grabbed lewdly at his crotch.

Both men laughed.

Alyssa didn't.

Meanwhile, Jimmy who maintained his arm-lock on Jen, darted his gaze to the teenager, savouring the dawning of recognition in her expression, "Hey Alyssa, long time no see, how's your Mom?"

That elicited a muffled cry of pain and another series of kicks and struggles, the latter only increasing in ferocity when Carlos whispered something inaudible to his companions in her ear and slid a palm between the teenager's legs.

"Carlos!" The man hesitated momentarily, then removed his hand.

"Aren't you, sweetie. Anything we want huh, no questions?" He lowered the knife, and a second later his palm struck the side of her face. As her head rocked from side to side with the force of the impact, he removed a coil of nylon rope from his jeans pocket and tossed it to Duane. Christopher White's left eye resembled an artist's palette, the skin around it a conflation of colors; sickly purple fading into muddled yellow into flaring red. The swelling had dissipated with the help of some embrocation his mother supplied him with, as well as a bag of frozen peas. Although the bruise, gifted to him by his brother Andy, was healing, it still looked tender and painful. Shortly before Andy had given his younger brother the black eye, he had initiated a dangerous dalliance with a rather beautiful girl who smelled like petrichor and daisies and whose name was as soft and delicate as the petals of a tea rose. Underneath her earthy and seemingly pleasant smell, though, Christopher could pick up a nauseatingly sour, spicy sweetness…
