Devin leaped up into the old maple tree outside of Alivias’ window. He could hear her toss and turn in her bed.
Liv, just relax and breathe deeply, it’s just a dream. An echoic voice said in a comforting whisper.
Who’s that? Devin thought.
I’m Lawson. The echoic voice replied.
Lawson, as in Alivias’ brother Lawson? Devin asked.
Yes.
But you’re dead. How are you talking through Alivias’ mind?
I’m not sure, when I died I drifted out of my body and the next thing I knew I was in Alivias’ head.
“Who are you talking to?” Chace asked in a harsh whisper as he leaped up into the tree. “And what the hell are you doing sitting outside Alivias’ window?”
“Trying to prove a point.”
“And what point would that be exactly?”
“I told you that there was something going on with Alivia and I was right. I’m talking to Lawson.”
Chace looked surprised. “As in Alivias’ brother Lawson?”

He couldn’t help but smile as he watched Alivia sleep. Her long slender curves outlined her beautiful body under the soft blanket. Her hair was resting on her pillow and shimmered in the morning light. He sighed and listened to her breathing as she took even breaths. He tried to swallow the fear, but it was next to impossible. He couldn’t help but worry about what she would think or do when he had to explain what she was and what he and Devin were. He played out different scenarios in his head, but they all ended up with her hating him. He decided that he had no choice. He had to tell her no matter what and keep her safe. He would just break the news gently and start from the very

I just got done with my shift to protect Camp Half-Blood feeling very tired and stressed. With the camp’s protection being down and most of the campers going back to their families for the summer, this meant that there were very few of us to guard our safe haven. Not to mention I was still recovering from my broken ankle. I decided to take a walk down to the beach near the camp. Lately, I’ve found the sound of crashing waves, wind brushing through my hair, and the slight smell of salt hitting my face very soothing ever since I had met my best friend, Percy Jackson.…

The battle ready dad I never had Everyday I try to be the best man I can be. I attribute that to the most inspirational person I can think of, Jeff Jury. He helped show me what its means to be a man with sports by instilling values, goals, and motivation in me. So on the days when I feel as if I have survived a skirmish with life itself, I use the same characteristics as in football to draw strength and perseverance enabling me to get out of bed and carry on with my life. Each morning as I drift back to consciousness and one by one my senses return.…
