"I don't even know my family anymore," Larry said. "My wife's an alien, and my daughter has powers."

Larry turned to Steve. "What about you, Steve?" Larry asked. "Do you have powers? Is there something you're not telling me?"

"Actually, yes," Steve said. "I've been drafted to fight in this war against these invaders."

"Oh, for fuck sake! I can't believe...."

"Steve, are you there?" Allison asked over the phone.

"Yeah, I'm here," Steve said. "How are you talking to me?"

"Earlier tonight, you were on a spaceship," Angel said. "Anyway, use the app on the cellphone that I gave you to teleport your family to the ship. You all need to hold on to each other for the teleportation to work. So hold hands or something."

"And is this really a spaceship?"

"Oberon is a planet that has engaged in a civil war. Our planet brought the war to Earth, and your kids will save both planets."

But why our kids?" Allison's Mom asked.

"Each of them has at least one asset that they will use to save Earth."

"What is it?" Allison's Mom asked.

Allison looked at her mother in the eyes.

"I'm pregnant," Allison said.

Allison's Mom got up from her chair and walked away. Meanwhile, Allison's Dad just sat there with a look of disappointment over his face. It was all like a calmness before a storm.

"You don't even have a job," Allison's Dad said. "What are you going to do, work at McDonald's for a few months and then go on maternity leave? That's not how the world works. And to make things worse, you got pregnant when we're about to go to war. So how could you possibly raise a baby?"

Allison didn't respond. She just sat in her chair in silence.

"That baby will save Earth if your children can't," Angel said.

"So you're saying this war can last for several years?" Allison's Dad asked.

"Yes."

Angel than looked at all the parents.

"New plan," Angel said. "I will have to do some tests, but I can train you all, if you choose to. Training will take about six months. But time on Earth has stopped. So we have plenty of
