Creative Writing: Abigail's Lie

Abigail's lie I just made it to the end of the woods thinking I’m in the clear, then suddenly two hands on my left am grabbed then two on my right. I looked to see who it was and it was two of the elders. I immediately stopped struggling to get away because they already knew who I was and I didn’t want them to think they had any more of a reason to assume I was doing anything wrong. Terrified as they took me to court and sat me down drilling me with questions. Can they accuse me of being a witch with no real proof?
“What were you doing in those woods, and were you alone?”
“Sidney why don’t you answer us? You broke our biblical ways. Do you work and see the devil?”
I stayed quite for a little awhile, trying to gather all my thoughts and how to stay out of trouble. I was so scared that Abigail would come for me if I told them what really happened or …show more content…
“This is Abigail’s diary and she writes her every thought in here. This book will prove that she and all the other girls are faking it. Worst of all she is trying to make sure your wife ends up dead. I heard her talking to some of the other girls while she was trying to convince them to keep lying and stay on her side.”
He looked like he wanted to cry of joy. The girls and I said we would be witnesses in the court and help him free all of his friends and his wife. He hugged all three of us and without saying a word walked out of the court. When I got back home that night I actually slept well. I fell asleep to thinking about how great it’s going to feel once Abagail is brought to justice. The next morning I woke up, ate, and showered with a skip in my step. As soon as I finished all my work I went to Mary’s because that’s where we had decided to meet before we all go to the court house. Hopefully today is a good
