Creative Writing: A Woman's Paws

Improved Essays
The female padded quickly across the frost bitten plains, her paws occasionally skidding across small pools of ice. Her black fur clashed harshly with the brown and tan of the surrounding blades of long, springing grass. Slowing her pace, she rounded a nearby bend that led between two collapsed stones with the scent of old prey. Dropping her head, she sniffed about the area. A quick climb here, a twist there and she had managed to follow the trail. Unfortunately, it was old and stale and led absolutely nowhere. The fae let out a angry howl as she turned on her paws and took off into the other direction. Surely there was prey somewhere! They couldn't all be gone yet right? Wrong. The black female shook her head as she once returned once more
