One summer my eldest brother, Colten decided to take his dog.Bo,and our dog Tess down to the Illinois River, to let out some energy.
Only, a couple of days before we went to the river, it poured down rain for a solid 3 days, non-stop. As, a result the ground was like soup, really brown, mucky, dirty, gross soup, that looked completely dry on the outside. So, once you stepped in the mud you were stuck, for good.
Bo and Tess were playing with a tennis ball in the river, being thrown by Colten and after 30 minutes or so the dogs began to tire. So he quit throwing the tennis ball and walked away. But, the dogs were not done playing. So, they took the tennis ball to each one of my family members trying to get them to throw it again. None of us did though, because, they were both

She wasn’t too happy about this so she, kicked and wiggled the whole way there. Bo was now determined that the rock could throw the ball for him. So, he kept giving the ball to the rock over and over again. Until, Colten, got angry and jumped into the mud to grab the ball, off of the ramp that led to the water. He, sunk immediately into the mud. We, meaning Klayten, my mom, Alysen, Bo, and I, spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get Colten out of the mud, that was waist deep. Colten, is 6’0”ft, all legs, with hands and feet bigger than bigfoots. So, it was quite a challenge getting him out. We found a stick, that Colten pushed up on, that kind of worked, then we tried pulling him out with the stick, that didn’t work either, until we finally used a combination of pulling with the truck that had tow straps and pushing up on the stick at the same time, to finally get him out.
Surprisingly, he didn’t lose anything, not even the change in his pockets. Well, he did lose the cleanliness of his clothes. I don’t think we ever got the mud completely out of that pair of clothes, or shoes,

Eventually, “I reached down for the rod, hesitated, looked up to where Sheila was stretching herself lazily toward the sky, her small breasts rising beneath the soft fabric of her dress, and the tug was too much for me, and quicker than it takes to write down, I pulled a penknife from my pocket and cut the line in half.” Even though the boy loves fishing and desire to catch the bass, he still choose to cut a fishing line which mean for him Sheila is over the bass. “Twenty yards ahead of us was the road, and once I pulled the canoe up on shore, the bass would…

The earth beneath their feet had long since morphed into oozing, black mud that sucked at their feet and legs. The pounding of artillery shells, the booming of massive guns, the sharp crack of rifles, and the smell of gunpowder were without pause. Blood-splattered bodies were sprawled on the trenches. The screams of agony and the earth-shattering crashes of shells would be enough to drive even the most stalwart to insanity.…

Frantically, the family tried their hardest to combat the downpour by digging up a levy so that the water went to a place to go besides the boxcars, since the creek was quickly filling with water. After all of the men’s hard work trying to fight the uncontrollable force of rain, a tree breaks the levy and water comes flooding in. “The water piled up against the tree. Dear Coach Williams, I have been a year long journey to the Tundra biome. It is very cold here and snows majority of the time. Summers bring wildflowers, but other than that it is mostly snow. This biome is found in the Arctic and has absolutely no trees and it does not get much rain here either. There is a lot of animals here: sheep, mountain goats, birds, grey wolves, polar bears, and very few other species.…

Crashing underwater in the North Georgia mountains, I wondered how I ended up here, upside down in the freezing cold water of the Cartecay river. My friend Jackson is a thrill-seeking kayaker, the total opposite of me. He’s outgoing and loves adventure, while I’m a bit introverted and cautious. Last winter Jackson convinced me to go kayaking, assuring me the river was easy to navigate and harmless.…

Bullets whizzed overhead hell-bent on hitting their targets. James pressed himself against the mud wall of the trench, as if by doing so it would take him away from the corner of hell that his old naive self had willingly entered. Allied planes tore through the open sky with kamikazes right on their tails. Gaping holes left in the ground by heavy artillery were full with stagnant water and the rotting corpses of dead soldiers, their weapons bent and rusted displaying a haunting past that time wouldn't forget.…

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK 1942 Steve sat quietly, hands tucked in his lap in the poorly-lit theater. For about 20 minutes, the white sheet had broadcasted war propaganda: little boys pulling dirty red wagons missing wheels, collecting scraps of metal for the war effort, soldiers hiding in ditches, clutching helmets to their heads and rifles to their chests, the sound of bombs exploding and tanks firing seemingly unnecessarily loud in Steve’s ears. A booming voice described the terrors soldiers faced in the battlefield, and it was so graphic and in so much detail that Steve felt he was there to fight with them. He almost forgot what he went there to see in the first place. Steve was mesmerized by the scene, like the way unwanted tears swell up in…
