Creative Writing A Letter To A Poor House

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this letter to describe to you my life at the Poor House. First of all, I was relocated to the poor farm because it became hard for me to meet the needs of myself and my three younger children. To think being poor was not enough bad luck, the small shack I lived in was burned to the ground. The only option for my family and I was move to Iowa from Kentucky. I had to move from Kentucky to Iowa because I heard about a place that took in the poor. The poor farm helped many people come self-sufficient. On this farm, we are allowed to farm on the land, raise our own fruits and vegetables. We raised our own livestock for the sake of consumption. More people helped when it came to harvesting. The size of the garden was more than one acre. Potatoes, raspberries, apples, pear trees and cheery trees were grown and the excessive food was sold. An underground cellar was built in order to store the fruits and vegetables.
The poor farm housed people physical and mental disabilities and the poor. Health care was provided at times. The doctor came once a week to provide routine care and checkups for the inmates. Even though service was provided to the disables and the poor, it did not prevent events from happening. Amanda Harms, a former tent, suffered from depression.
