To separate some of the roles a bit more, the servers will each run two Hyper-V machines on each. On one virtual machine (VM), the file sharing server will reside, and on the other, the printer server. The main reason for this separation is, while the file server tends to be stable, the printer server can hang up due to spooling/driver/printer problems. If the printer server and file server reside on the same physical server, a reboot will cause file service outages until the server is back on-line. When separating these functions onto a VM, the VM that is hosting the printer server can be rebooted without affecting the VM that is running the file
