Creative Community Organizing Book Review

Creative Community Organizing I like this book a lot more than the Rules of Radical. I felt that Kahn give me a much better insight of what community organizing really is. Books do different things including tell a story, educate, emotionally inspire or motivate to action.Si Kahn 's book Creative Community Organizing: A Guide for Rabble-Rousers, Activists, and Quiet Lovers of Justice manages to do it all. To me, on a casual level, it is a story or biography covering his involvement in the civil rights movement, his influence from his family and rabbi father, friendships and connections he made. Plus a little side trip to seduction and firearms. I really enjoy reading the poems in the book. .The Black Lives Matter is the new Civil Right Movement. The Black Lives Matter movement is best understood as one modern expression of a 350-year-old struggle to affirm the dignity of black life in a society that has systematically and historically denied it. Sure we do not live in the era where black and white people are segregated, but integration has not helped either. The Civil Right Movements mainly focused on basic human rights from education, jobs, voting rights, and etc. While the BLM movements focus mainly on police brutality against African Americans . People often say that the BLM should not be compared to the Civil Right Movement, because BLM promotes violence and goes against everything MLK stood for. That BLm increased racial tensions,supports criminals, riots, and etc. The truth is BLM supports none of that. BLM wants to put an end to systemic racism, just like the Civil Rights Movement aimed
