Unlike many of the ancient myths, evolution is very scientific. Evolution is a creation myth that is based on everything evolving from one molecule. The scientist Charles Darwin created evolution. Today, most of the science community believes that his theory of evolution is true. “All life on Earth is connected and related to each other, and this diversity of life is a product of modifications of populations by natural selection… more simply put, the theory can be described as descent with modification” (Than). Evolution is saying that everything on Earth is related. Humans are related to dogs and birds. Everything was modified into what it is today. Natural selection can change species into a new species. With enough time evolution can change a species into a new unique species. This is known as macroevolution. It can change dinosaurs into birds and apes into humans (Than). Normally, natural selection just changes species slightly. For example, natural selection can change the color, beak length, wing shape, etc. of a species over many generations. Scientists say natural selection is what caused evolution. They say that natural selection can change species given enough time. That is why scientists say that the earth is billions of years old. That type of natural selection is known as macroevolution. At first, the earth just had small, simple organisms, but they evolved into more complex organisms. They say that …show more content…

During the warm season, summer, they said that Demeter was happy because Persephone was with her mother. The crops were bountiful during the summer and it was very pleasant outside because Demeter was happy again. The Greeks took the yearly occurrence of seasons and explained it in their own way.
