In taking this course I have learned a great deal of information regarding the theory of evolution and creationism. To be completely honest, I never paid much attention to this material when it was presented to me in high school. However, my perspective has certainly changed since starting this class. I used to believe evolution was complete rubbish but there is actually a significant amount of reasoning behind their claims. However, as a Christian, faith will trumps reason. I actually never truly cared to learn about Creationism until this class. I feel the more I complete this class the more objective I become, which is amazing because I am highly opinionated. We desire to know everything. But the reality is we do not. I do not believe our mere human minds can understand the depths of creation, thus God did not give us abundant knowledge regarding this matter. We have to choose to let God be God. “The greatest insult to nature is that mutations and natural selection are credited with being responsible for all of it” (Lyndon, 2009). I do not want to know everything, especially things that were not meant for me to understand. That’s the great part about being human and serving a God far greater than I. He is all knowing, he is all righteous, all-powerful, omnipresent and omnipotent. I do not need to worry about such matters, I just have to have the faith and be obedient to him.
