As unionists, we celebrate Labor Day because of the struggle workers had to accomplish for equality in pay and rights. Today we still fight to ensure every employee in this country has the same protections we have worked so hard to accomplish. Through that Solidarity, Labor Unions began organizing strikes, rallies, and parades to protest the cruel working conditions to drive workers to fight for better hours and pay. Today we benefit from the income equality, the end of child labor, employer based health coverage, minimum wage, retirement plans, and so many others. …show more content…
