From Lir came the gods Manannan, Branwen, and Bran. From Danu many more came, Dagda, Nuadha, Dienceght, Goihbhio, Morrigan, and Brighid. The “children” of the two gods went on to create two races that Celtic culture sings of.

The main reason that this is the only story to have survived is that during the middle ages Christianity became the most influential religion. Lots of people (including Celtic polytheists) converted to Christianity and a lot of their creation stories were forgotten in the process.
