Friedman says that this idea of equality fundamentally different from the other two because it contradicts with liberty, and is difficult to achieve. The most ardent supporters of equality of outcome are government officials and representatives of the intellectuals, but they fail to practice what they preach, thereby proving that this system of equality cannot be achieved and implemented. Equality of outcome uses the slogan "fair shares for all", the goal of which, as Friedman explains is "fairness" - a concept that is difficult to define because of its vagueness. This means that someone has to make a decision and take away from those who are receiving "more than their fair" and giving to those who receive less.
