Roger marched into the store with his head held high. It’s his birthday and nobody could break him now. Roger pauses and gives attention to the King Size Cookies n’ Cream Hershey bar on the shelf, his hand extends into his pocket before he realizes he has no money, or not any real money at least. Roger pulls out the fraudulent money, and glances at it, he notices he has three, one dollar bills, and 2 quarters, after staring at it he puts it back into his pocket. At the register, the lady’s name tag read “Stacy”. “That would be $1.50.” she said. Roger looks at the money, then looks at her, then he looks back at the money.     Martha Chase was an American Geneticist who was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was famously known for her and her ally Alfred Day Hershey’s landmark experiment in genetics proving that DNA is genetic material. Her experiment was using radioactive tracers to mark the DNA core and the protein coat of a phage called bacteriophage, or bacterial virus. Her and Alfred placed the material into a blender and turned on the switch which resulted in the scientists discovering that the blender had separated the DNA and the protein, an examination showed that only the DNA had entered the bacteria when infection was occurring. This experiment concluded that the protein played a role in adsorption to the bacteria helped inject the viral DNA into the bacteria cell.
