I would like to ask Ms. Marsha Craven to reconsider my academic dismissal and allow me to take NS 233 in the summer. During the spring semester, I work very to make sure I pass the class. I went to SI, tutor, study group, and even to the school counselor to get help when my grades were going down. On my first exam, I did not do well as I wanted to. I reviewed my exam with the instructors and learned where I made the mistake at and corrected for the next exam. I ended up doing much better. I also studied hard for the quizzes and read the chapters before class. I did well on the final, but I did not score the 90% on the final exam to have 80% testing average. I would like Ms. Cravens to give me another chance to correct my mistake and allow

This class was Honors Chemistry, it was extremely difficult and I tried everything I could possibly do to try to be successful in that class. I did extra homework, staying after school, and staying up remarkably late just to try to understand a concept that others seemed to fathom so easily. The feeling of failure from not doing strong in this class made me feel as if I could never understand this class. The feeling of failure for anyone is not an enjoyable feeling, it mostly can cause a stress on your life, when you know you are able to succeed. The novel, Kindred, exposed me to the un- taught lifestyles of the southern people during slavery. It left me with questions, jaw dropping moments, and surprises, but yet not, of the life styles that were practiced during the 1800s that today we might see in different forms. One event that troubled me the most was reenactment of the slave market. Kevin and Dana were walking away from the Weylin’s home and slave quarters to talk in private when they saw slave children reenacting a slave market. Then Dana said, “Even the games they play are preparing them for their future.”…
