Crash the movie centers around several social issues such as; racism, cultural norms, values, beliefs, discrimination, oppression, and many others. It’s main focus discusses the different issues that different family and individuals who are of different racial backgrounds are facing. There is a black couple who were on their way home after a night out. On their way home, they were targeted and stopped by two white police officers. While the husband was being cooperative to the officer’s order, the wife was a bit drunk and simple wanted to go home as she claimed they did nothing wrong and was only away few blocks away from their home. The first officer, officer Ryan, ordered the couple to get out of the vehicle. He then started making negative remarks about …show more content…
There were also Anthony and Peter, two young black men who claimed that they were racially profiled after receiving unsatisfactory service in a restaurant. On their way out, they saw a white couple. As the woman grab hold of her husband’s arm, it caused Anthony to believe that it was a sign of racism against them. The two young men then pulled out their guns and hijacked the couple’s car. There was also a Latino family who recently moved into a neighborhood after experiencing a shooting at their previous home. The father was a locksmith. One night after work, he came home to find his daughter under the bed who claimed that she is afraid of bullets. He comforts her and gave her an invisible protective coat and told her that the it will protect her from bullets. There was also a Persian father and daughter. The father is an owner of a shop, and he does not speak English. His daughter however was bilingual. They decided to purchase gun, which the daughter did. She also bought blank bullets without her father knowing about it. Later in the movie, at the shop the father hired the Latino locksmith to fix his door lock. However, the locksmith told him that he needs to get a new
