CPL Cortesio, you are being counseled for failing a sobriety test on 1 Oct 2017 at or around 0030 with a BAC at 0.095. You stated to me that you were leaving SPC Ramsey's house (which is a shared residence with yourself) and were on your way home to Manhattan when you were pulled over for speeding. Upon further investigation, the event as i gathered, you were drinking at SPC Ramsey and your house at a bar-b-Que. that you were having with select soldiers and NCOs from the unit. You then proceeded to make your way to go see a SSG in Manhattan. You stated that you did not feel impaired at this time. After arriving at ssg ' house you stayed there for approximately 90 minutes and stated that you did not drink there but you saw SGT Blunt drink one …show more content…
You were cited for going 53mph in a 40mph zone on 6th street in Junction City. Which lead to you being pulled over by local law enforcement. At this time you stated that you blew a .085 BAC and where then placed under arrest. Approximately 1 hour later after retesting, you blew a .095 BAC. This indicates that your body was still processing alcohol in your system. at 0100 you called me SSG Conn to notify me that you were in county Jail in Junction city Kansas Driving under the influence is the number one cause of traffic fatalities and is a danger to you, your passengers, and anyone else on the road. You have been briefed countless times from the Battalion Commander, the Company Commander and by your chain of command not to drink and drive. I understand that you did not intend to drive impaired and may not have considered yourself to be impaired but rules must be enforced. Drinking and driving is a serious offense and this type of behavior will not be tolerated. As your supervisor, it is my responsibility to protect Soldiers and correct unacceptable behavior. IAW 1ABCT Policy Directive #7, mandatory initiation of separation proceedings will be enacted on for all
