There are many similarities between, “Coyote Steals Fire,” and “Master Cat.” In both stories the tricksters had a goal to achieve. In “Coyote Steals Fire” his goal was to get the fire from Thunder. In the story “Coyote Steals Fire” he was a coyote meanwhile in “Master Cat” he was a cat. In “Coyote Steals Fire” there was a god and in “Master Cat” there was a king. In “Coyote Steals Fire” women were viewed less than men because the female teeth were only one point in the game of dice while men teeth were two points. In “Master Cat” women were viewed as prizes. That means women were a winning prize and every man should have one. Like the king’s daughter everyone wanted her. In “Coyote Steals Fire” he cheats against Thunder to get what he wants. He turns his dice ‘teeth’ to get higher points, he also takes sticks when Thunder isn't looking. Meanwhile in “Master Cat’ the cat lies and cons the king to get what he needed for the mill owners son. The cat tells the king that the mill owners son had all this land and he lives in a big castle and he is rich when he actually is very poor.
