Cowboys Team History

Currently sitting in the National Rugby League's fifth position, the North Queensland Cowboys are a professional rugby team hailing from Australia. Even though the team is doing so well, many fans are not sure what the team is truly capable of and don't know what to make of them. Because of this uncertainty, we've decided to fill you in with some background information about them including who their star players are, some of their team history, what the outlook is for this team, and why they are expected to only improve as time goes by.

The Cowboys' History

The team has been in existence for almost a hundred years giving it a great deal of history. It began as a regional player in 1921. That year, the team won the championship in its history

However, they have had some struggles which is to be expected when a team plays against the nation's best. Currently, there are some issues between the team's sponsors and the team. Until the sponsorship rights are worked out, they are playing in the 1300SMILEZ stadium which is also known as the Willows Sports Complex.

The Cowboys' Star Players

The Cowboys are more about team play than they are about stars. In fact, no single start stands out. Because of this, the team has really pulled together to enhance the tightness of their play. However, Antonio Winterstein is currently leading the team in tries. He's earned this title since he's managed on 11 different occasions to put the ball down in the back successfully.

When it comes to tacles, the Cowboys' leading player is Ethan Lowe. Throughout the course of play, he is emerging as a star tackler who has picked up quite a few tackler. In order to win some games, this type of defensive powerhouse is what the team needs.

Players Johnathan Thurston and Matthew Scott share the role of captain for the Cowboys. These two players take their dual role seriously. Once the team is out on the field, the players have clear leadership. This is the type of play that fans love to
