The cowardly lion is a great example of a dynamic character in The Wizard of Oz written by L. Frank Baum. Dynamic characters such as the lion experience a drastic change as the story plays out. When the cowardly lion is first introduced to the plot he tries to scare Dorothy, the scarecrow, and the tinman by jumping out of the forest but to his dismay he was just as scared of them as they were him. He is truly terrified of anything and everything. Which leads to his song that goes a bit like this “ Yeah, it’s sad, believe me Missy. When you’re born to be a sissy. Without the vim and verve. But I could show my prowess. Be a lion, not a mowess. If I only had the nerve.” Throughout the story his hope for courage
