Covington High School: A Case Study

The Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) department at Covington High School partnered with the West Tennessee MRC five years ago to disseminate information about public health and in addition promote emergency preparedness in the community. Because of the longstanding relationship, Covington High School has with Lifeblood the legwork was minimal. This year I had the opportunity to learn more about the program and how it functions. Lifeblood visits Covington High School twice a year. Every year Life Blood contacts Covington High School’s HOSA director to schedule the dates that Covington High School wants them onsite. During the visit, students who are a part of HOSA serve as escorts to students throughout the building. In addition,
