Covergirl Reflective Essay

In this essay, I evaluated the persuasive techniques in a CoverGirl advertisement. In my claim statement regarding the advertisement, said that I CoverGirl had designed a successful advertisement by using proper placement, emotional connection, and celebrity endorsement. I do feel pride in my claim statement, for the ad I was analyzing strongly use all these techniques. The aspects I would revise my claim statement would be italicizing the magazine’s name that I found my advertisement. When I was preparing for this essay, I took significant steps to assist me while writing my essay. While I was researching my topic, I took steps to ensure that I was not using websites that were not credible. I made sure that whenever I used a website that ended in a .com it was also located in print or had a copyright date. I feel that the quality of factual evidence in the essay is very high due of the extensive research of reliable sources. Although I researched reliable facts, I still faced two major issues when I was developing my essay. The first issue that I had to deal with was I could not find any article on EBSCO related to my main points or my counter-argument. After evaluating my essay, I do not feel that I had used good sentence variety, for on the third page of my argument, I counted my sentence types and I found that I used simple sentence about 70% of the time. On the other hand, I gained new skills on how to improve my writing through my errors. By making mistakes, I was able to learn about quotations namely, when to incorporate them and when to leave them out. I also learned how to structure an essay as well and where to put transition sentences. I will learn from my mistakes and better my learning through trial and
