Cover Letter For Operations Manager Position

It is an honor to submit my name in consideration for the position of Operations Manager. An honor because one of my heroes held this position. Larry Tedford was one of the all-time greats. It was Larry that taught me so much about Alpha and the field side of things. I remember he would tell me, “The field side of things are not so black and white, Heather.” In the accounting world, things are black and white. It was Larry that challenged my way of thinking. At times, I have grown and taken on more responsibilities, not because there was an opening of a new position per se, but because there was a need, a void, a lack of performance and although there is a position to be filled now, there is a great team in Charlotte. It will be a humbling experience to lead this great team and in my humility is where I feel I will grow the most.
I already have experience in several of the areas listed as Operation Manager duties. I believe my experience with inventory, material purchasing, extra ticket work pricing, job cost budgets, billing and even receivables, gives me an advantage. Another area that I feel I bring the most value is in my training. I have a one hundred percent success rate in those I have helped hire and train. I take pride in hiring and training well. I thrive on seeing others do well, find success, and do things they once thought they could not do. I have ideas about our hiring and recruiting process and I look forward to putting my training skills to great use as the Operations Manager. I also already have a great relationship with the superintendents, project managers, sales and admin team. I feel these factors alone give me the ability to jump right in and not have to learn the Alpha process or develop trust and relationships with the Charlotte team. I come with the security of knowing that my blood bleeds Alpha Blue. Not only do
