In the case of State v. Evans, 671 N.W.2d 720, (2003). , we see the distress of the victim that suffered from both harassment and stalking from her predator for a period that span more than three years (Brody and Acker, 2010). The harassment aspect that Hubert Evans summited the victim, Rebecca Arnold, to started out at a very slow rate with it become more intense and leading to stalking over years leading to the arrest of Mr. Evans and criminal conviction for harassment and stalking (Brody and Acker, 2010). The criminal charges were heard by a judge and jury where Mr. Evans gained a criminal conviction for the charges that he faced in the trial. The criminal conviction of Mr. Evans lead to his appeal to the State of Iowa Appeals court to evaluate the case as it relates to the state statute for harassment and stalking (Brody and Acker, 2010).…

I am a christian. So I see the issue taking place in this court case differently then someone with different beliefs than me would. I also get that my opinion on this issue may be considered biased to some of y’all. That’s alright with me. I found that this decision of the Supreme Court to very hypocritical because in the Stanford v. Kentucky case, the Supreme Court ruled that Stanford should be sent to the death penalty and did not have a problem executing a minor which violates the 8th and 14th amendment. The Supreme Court should have just sentences the defendant to the death…
two feet, gain their self-esteem, and regain their relationship with their children and family members (Kaye, 2004). Another problem-solving courts with successful results include domestic violence courts. Domestic violence cases arose in the 1900s and it was evident that not enough was being done in order to protect the victims. Problem-solving courts allow for one judge to overview the case from the beginning to the end.…
Texas case overturned a law put into place to take away the constitutional rights of individuals who engage in homosexual activities. It mainstreamed Texas and the Federal Government of the United States. The case caused the U.S. Constitution to not remain in violation. In addition to law-making, this particular cause also helped Texas adjust to the rest of the world. Texas has always adopted and did its own thing; Texas has had a hard time agreeing with the laws that were being passed through legislation, especially when it came to the homosexual community.…
The purpose of releasing a defendant on bond is to ensure that the defendant will make an appearance later on to continue the criminal justice process (Bohm & Haley, 2014). The setting of a bond allows defendants to be released to continue their day to day life but return at a later date to finish their case. Bond setting is a right that some defendants have under the Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution, it is not guaranteed (Bohm & Haley, 2014). In this scenario, I believe that the judge did have a right to release Danielle on bond. Both of her offenses were felonies, but they were not considered violent crimes.…

Colorado Civil Rights Commission, I am ruling in favor of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. Both sides presented very good arguments, and for the majority of the case, I struggled to make a decision. In the end, my final decision was made based on what the effects of allowing Phillips to abuse this law would be. If Phillips were allowed to discriminate based on his religious beliefs, it would make it possible for more people to do so, to the point where the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act would be rendered useless. Both sides had their rights violated, but initially it was only Charlie and David that did.…
