The big act of courage that Davy makes is in Chapter 5. Davy has been jailed, and the family is doing a lawsuit to try and break him out. The lawsuit fails and not seeing another option Davy breaks out of jail. This was a large act of courage because he had to break out by himself with no support and if he got caught there would be large consequences, there might have even been a death penalty if that was a thing back then. This has courage for two reasons. The first reason is about her not taking about it, I takes guts to keep that type of stuff in. If you’ve ever had a big secret and you keep it in for to long you’ll start to go insane and you’ll eventually have to tell someone. The second reason is for going through that, the book made it sound like she didn’t even fight back and if that was me I would’ve at least tried to do something so that also took some
