Courage In The Movie Tucker

In the 1988 movie, Tucker, Preston Tucker had a dream. A dream to create the car of tomorrow in the 1950’s when the movie is set. However, not everything went as planned and he came very close to spending his life in prison. With all that being said, Preston Tucker was incredibly courageous because he never gave up in any circumstance thrown his way, he was willing to risk everything he had in order to accomplish his dream, and he never let the corrupted government take away his spirit. Tucker was the very essence of courage. Throughout the entirety of the film, Preston Tucker was thrown into incredible situations that could have ended life as he knew it. Firstly, Tucker was broke; if it was not for his wife, Vera Tucker, he would have been a hobo. Tucker could have been seen as a fraud. He hid a lot of what actually happened from the general public. Like the fact that the car he showed in the grand revealing of the “Tucker,” was not safe. It could not even reverse. He also sold dealerships before he had any cars to sell, or much of a plan to make them. Mr. Tucker was a huge risk taker. He did not care what it took to get to success. That is not bad in itself. But, when you consider he was not using his own money this could be seen as a terrible plan from his business partner’s perspective. Mr. Tucker’s courage allowed him to reach his dreams, but in the process he risked a lot of money that was not his own. Preston Tucker was a wonderful innovator and a very courageous man for going after his dream. Even though, at times, it seemed that his methods were not as clean as they maybe should have been, he was not maliciously deceiving the public. He did what he needed to. He did not give up, despite the risks and the harsh opposition he faced from those in power. He knew he could create his car, and he would not let anyone tell him that he could not do
