Courage is the ability to do something that frightens one, or strength in the face of pain or grief. Throughout the book, The Kite Runner, courage is shown in many different people in many different ways. One has to have courage to be in a war torn country. Hassan shows courage and loyalty throughout the entire book. He goes through a lot, even assault, just to get the blue kite for Amir, that is courageous. Hassan takes the blame when Amir wrongly accuses him of stealing, he knew what was going to happen, courage in being frightened. When he comes back to live with Rahim Khan he is courageous in facing a horrible war and facing death. He is one of the most courageous people in this book, he deserved a good friend not someone like Amir.
