One bird was all it took. That bird was an Erne that took a baby lamb. Harry was too much of a coward to do anything about it. When he ran back up to their family’s farm to tell his father about this, his father laughed in his face and called him a liar. He beat him with a stick and told him to never lie to him again. Harry went back tot the sheep and prayed that the Erne would come back the next day so he could show his father. His prayer was answered and the bird came back the next day. It did the same thing it had done before, hover over the sheep, swoop down and see who was the weakest, the devour them. Harry was prepared for this and got a metal shaft. When the erne attacked one of the lamb’s, Tassie the sheep dog, got pierced in the chest and died. Now it was up to Harry to defeat the bird. He ran at the erne with everything he had, swinging here and there, hitting this and that. The erne did have an answer for him, using its talons to swipe at him when it could. Finally harry knocked it down and kept hitting it until he was sure it was dead. Harry brought the erne back to his father and Harry’s father couldn’t believe it. He showed new passion for Harry that was very different. Many other people wanted to hear about the story and see the wounds. He became extremely brave and courageous after that. He believed in
