Courage has various meanings to different people. Many words fall under the meaning of courage. Speaking out is an example of courage. Speaking out in front of a crowd is a great ability to have. When a person has to make a speech and decide on what to say, they must practice in order to have people listen to them and not get uninterested in the topic. Philosopher, Mark Twain, once said “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear--not absence of fear.” (“Courage”). I liked this quote of courage because it relates to how the courage definition is. This quote by Mark Twain explains that you have to fight to have courage and then proceed with courage and accomplish it. While acting this out, do not back down and have “absence” from fear or do not have absence of fear ever. During this battle of courage, having bravery is what you need to conquer fear.
