Creamy Zucchini Hummus Flavors, Textures, Visual Appeal, and Presentation The Creamy Zucchini Hummus turned out quite smooth, despite my makeshift food processor. I really enjoyed the taste and knowing that it did not use any beans like traditional hummus. It is also nice that this is a veggie-centric dip. It made the perfect complement to the Sesame Orange Crisps.…

There seems to be no end to this debate; Memphis style, Southern style, North Carolina style, or South Carolina style. Even Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida have gotten into the game! We're talking here, of course about the vast array of pulled pork crockpot recipes that make these claims. There is no agreement whatsoever on which region can claim which recipe. When I started comparing pulled pork crockpot recipes, I found many of the same ingredients and cooking methods claimed by a multitude of regions, states, and cities.…

Locavore Essay We live in a world defined by a need for speed: Speed in production, speed in communication, and speed in transportation. The locavore movement challenges these questionable societal norms in seeking food that grows within a small set radius in the search of food that is more wholesome, more fresh, and more delicious.…

Despite having lived in Texas for three years, we had never actually eaten real barbecue, so today was a good chance to dig in. We went to a cozy barbecue restaurant nestled in Schulenburg. My brother had a supposedly “Texas classic”- a Frito pie, which he loved.…
