Growing up in Wilson County, I have had people to think that I am a typical country girl because of my country accent. I do not live on a farm. I do not struggle in school. I take honors classes. I have never wanted to be the type of person who barely graduates from high school. When I was little I always told myself “One day I will go to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.” My confidence, as well as AVID, has helped me to get to my junior year of high school and maintain A’s and B’s.
Optimism is when you have a positive attitude during hard times. Optimism is needed to get through everything. The key to new achievements in the world is hope. Think about doctors, if they didn’t believe in their abilities they would not even try to
