We all know Steve Jobs: most famously known as co-founder, former chairman and chief executive officer of Apple Inc. Apple was founded in 1976 and the first product was produced and sold the same year. Then came along the MacBooks and the iPhones and the iPods. These were innovations made beyond anybody’s wildest dreams. Shortly after Jobs’ death, his official biographer, Walter Isaacson, described him as “the creative entrepreneur whose passions for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing,” and I bet that not a lot of people beg to differ. Technology became of growing importance as the years went by and is a big part of society today. Jobs was adopted, but interestingly enough, his biological father happened to be Syrian, one of the many ethnic groups to have immigrated to America. America was the soul place people were going to, they weren’t just spreading out everywhere. This brings us back to my first scenario: If Steve Jobs’ father’s ancestors didn’t come to America, what would the odds be of him and his wife meeting and having Steve Jobs, and/or could’ve Steve Jobs created what he had if he was in another country, and not knowing what America even …show more content…
Another question that must go through our heads is this: would we have the same opportunities and rights? The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, presidential speeches and many other sources stating the freedom of all men and that we are all created equal were mostly established in the United States. We are a free country. Others, however, are not. They do not have the same rights we have, and unfortunately maybe never will. If the United States never existed, would we have the right of entrepreneurship? Would we have all of the resources that have helped us through life? In general, would we have the freedoms that we have today? Even though being an American citizen can be difficult at times, we must consider and appreciate that having an America has helped the world be where it is
