In old legends, the creature created by Victor Frankenstein was view as a mythical beast. Its large body with stitches around its limbs, its frightening body, and ugly features. The creature was created with body mysterious body parts and came alive. The creature has the capability of feeling emotion like any other human and innocent like a baby. Its wish is to be able to be one with society and in this story, it tells us how its point of view is different than what we expected of ourselves. It is a human flaw that we always make impressions based on looks than what is truly inside.

The creature learns the cottager's language as it is trying to get along with them one day. The creature said, "I learned and applied the words, ‘fire,’ ‘milk,’ ‘bread,’ and ‘wood.’ I learned also the names of the cottagers themselves", it shows that it is persistent in learning their language.
