Costco Stock Analysis

I went into the stock market project with a minimal understanding of the real stock market. When asked to choose which five stocks to invest in, I was lost. I eventually started to realize that I should choose stocks that may be popular in the upcoming months. The stocks I chose were Nike, the Hershey Company, Transunion. Microsoft Corporation, and Costco Wholesale Corporation. I had a reason for choosing almost all the stocks I did. I chose Nike because as the spring season came along, I assumed more people would trade in their winter boots for nice, new Nike running shoes. I chose the Hershey Company because the Easter season was coming up. Most families buy lots of candy during this time, whether for children’s Easter Baskets, Easter egg hunts, or …show more content…
Week one I lost very little money. The stocks stayed very close to the price I bought them for, with the biggest change being a $4.00 decrease in the value of the Costco stock. Week two was rough. All my stocks went down in value. Week three was a good week for my stocks, having lost only $1.00 between Monday and Thursday overall. With that being said, some of my stocks still went down in value and the other ones luckily went up in value evening it all out. Week four my stocks started changing for the good. All my stocks went up around $3.00 or more. Costco and Microsoft went up around $4.00 in value. Week five my stocks started to slow down once again, but not enough to make a significant decrease. The final week, week six, two out of my five stocks went down in price by almost $3.00 each. My stocks performance, overall, was very mixed, having some stocks increase by multiple dollar with others decreasing by multiple dollars. At the very end, I gained

Throughout the month the top 3 stocks I had traded were STRT, YELP and UA. Although UA stumbled through the middle, it rebounded and created a nice profit. STRT is a security company, a riskier stock I found in the first week of trading and continued to trend upward the entire month. Yelp I found in part of researching for a more balanced portfolio, which returned my second best profit. Between these three stocks a profit of $345 was created.…
