Observing my different investments, Costco (COST) has definitely been one of the stocks with the most movement. Doing my research, the current stock beta for Costco is 0.91. Since Costco’s beta is under 1 (at 0.91), Costco is currently less volatile than the market by 9%. This does match the direction and magnitude predicted by the stock’s beta, as Costco stock has been dramatically dropping within the last few days. I purchased my Costco stock at $167.87 and over a matter of weeks it continued to rise and rise to where the stock was selling for over $178, then the stock began to fall and drop to where it currently is as of this moment, $165.14.
