Introduction:
Many people may not know of the small nation of Costa Rica, it has been said that the nation is often confused as the island of Puerto Rico. However Costa Rica is located in Central America boarded by Nicaragua and Panamá, to the North and South respectively, and the Caribbean Sea on the East Coast and the Pacific on the West. In the pre-Colombian era, Costa Rica had fewer indigenous groups that resided in the region compared to other Central America nations; however those that were there lived in communities and participated in agriculture.
