Cost Trauma Support Group Reflection

Decent Essays
I enjoyed having additional assignments this week at internship. One assignment was to find a free of cost trauma support group. Unfortunately, I could not find a support group for victims of sexual assault as hoped, however I provided a few essential resources to the patient. Although Kaiser has many group treatment options for patients, all require a co-payment. Co pay’s vary depending on the patient’s insurance benefits. In this case, the patient was not able to afford paying $20.00 each week. It’s frustrating to witness a patient is ready to continue recovery, however has to prolong treatment due to the financial burden.
This week I was able to become more hands on, as I assisted a patient with discharge planning and linkage to services.
