It is clear that cost paths analysis is a feasible tool for determining the location of a tramping track through multiple significant sites. It has provided a route DoC could follow for the Pike29 Memorial Track. In this study area it could be appropriate to exclude the area where the mine and its tunnels are situated to appropriately recognise, resect and remember the miners. The exclusion of certain areas may also reduce some of the limitations of cost distance and cost paths tool, whereby in this study the least cost path was the most direct (and straight route).
