There are many reasons an ever increasing number of people relocate to the greater Houston area. For one, more jobs are created in the area than anywhere in the country, with Houston adding two jobs for everyone lost during the last recession. It is also home to 26 Fortune 500 countries. Houston is known for having a medical center larger than downtown Dallas. The city is known for its thriving cultural and restaurant scene, and is home to six major professional sports teams, including the Astros in major league baseball, the Texans of the NFL, and the Rockets of the NFL.
