Serenitie Smith English II Career paper 8 March, 2024 Cosmetologist My career choice is cosmetology. I have been interested in this career ever since I was a little girl. What grabbed my attention about this career was when I was a little girl I used to go get haircuts,and something in me just connected with styling and cutting hair.I want to have this job in the career field because it is my dream,and I would have a flexible schedule. I'm a good fit for cosmetology because I'm very good at cutting and dying hair. Cosmetologists provide beauty services,such as cutting,coloring,and styling hair,and massing,and treating the scalp.Cosmetologists start by going to a 2 semester hair school and getting their license. Cosmetologists need a lot of hand and eye coordination. Cosmetologists also need very steady hands (“skills and abilities”). I'm sure staying organized isn't that hard. I think steady hands might be a problem because sometimes I start shaking randomly. The salary of a cosmetologist in Missouri follows a three-tier system. A beginner starts with 21,800$ a year.The average cosmetologist can make is 33,290$. If I work hard I can make $60,080. Missouri has an average salary when it comes to cosmetology (“cosmetologist”). I'm concerned because the pay is low. Even if I work hard, I feel I can make more somewhere else. I've noticed most jobs have three tier systems,so it's helpful to know about it. Cosmetologists are required to use more than one form of technology including spreadsheet software,video creation and editing software,and accounting software. Cosmetologists also must be able to keep an organized space and schedule (“Technology”). I find technology easier to use when I'm left alone to edit or figure something out by myself.I'm very organized when it comes to schedules.
