I want to be a cosmetologist because they make people go from drab to fab, and I respect the fact that they make people feel pretty. A cosmetologist is the study and application of beauty treatment. A Cosmetologist’s specialty includes hairstyling, makeup application, and manicures/pedicures. They can help one achieve the hairstyle look they desire that one cannot do themselves. Most Cosmetologists’ work for a salon, however there are some who are self employed and they chose their own hours. When working for a salon it is usually a part time job, where as when one is self employed they usually work more hours and also on the weekends. One does not need an overwhelming amount of schooling for this particular job. To be a licensed cosmetologist …show more content…
When you do this for a living, you can style you own hair for free. Often they travel for weddings or prom, and traveling is defiantly a plus. The clients play a very big role in this job, and there will be good and bad but it is one of those things you just have to deal with. The best thing about this job is to know that you are making someone look like they wanted to look like, and you are putting a smile on their face. One major conflict is that customers are seasonal; they come when they have the money so your customers will not always be steady. Often you will get rude customers that will never be happy with what you give them which is part of the job. One will have to realize that all clients are not nice, but all of them are clients. One will grow to love their clients and really respect how their clients think of them. A down side is that some people are just dirty and do not take care of themselves as they should. There will be nasty parts of the job, or when you cut yourself with the razor by accident. There are pros and cons about every job, but I feel like there are more pros than cons in this job. This job is not hard, but it sure is not
