According to Troy Seidle a pole concluded that, “88 percent of us believe animal testing causes pain and suffering to animals and that such suffering just for cosmetics isn’t worth it, especially when safe ingredients are already available,”(Seidle). Considering that most people don’t feel the need to buy products with newly tested ingredients, why should companies continue to do that it is not an absolutely necessary practice. There are thousands of chemicals out there that have already gone through the process of being tested so it wouldn’t be like companies couldn’t make new products, they could make many. Yes companies want to make money by selling newly improved products but that is not going to make people want to buy products that aren’t apart of their daily use. Gregory Mone states that animal testing is a long and expensive process and can take several years and use up millions of dollars to carry out, (Mone).…

On average, about 26 million animals are taken and used as little test subjects for big corporations to test their possibly harmful, and occasionally lethal, products before they release them to the public's use. This testing on animals began in 500 B.C and many corporations that participate in it see no harm, and have absolutely no intentions of stopping it anytime soon. There are many people that think testing these possibly dangerous products on innocent animals is not a big deal, but this paper will inform the public with some statistics and also give you the writer's perspective on why animal testing is wrong. One thing that is very arguable when talking about whether testing on these creatures should be approved, and continue or…

This quote explains animal testing perfectly; “Many cosmetic companies test their new products and ingredients by forcing rabbits, hamsters, and mice, among others, to endure horrific practices such as breathing in poisonous fumes or having lethal chemicals poured into their eyes and rubbed into their skin”(Natasha Cole, Cruelty Free Cosmetics). Many supporters of animal testing will argue that it can have positive outcomes, however, humanity uses it in vain ways. This makes it especially wrong because humans are treating animals cruelly and inhumanely mostly to look attractive. Continuing on about cosmetic testing on animals: “Animal testing for cosmetics is an outdated practice and does not provide the most reliable results regarding the safety, performance, or possible reactions that cosmetic products or ingredients could have in a person” (Natasha Cole, Cruelty Free Cosmetics). The reason to continue these means of testing on animals proves to be no longer relevant because easier and more reliable ways of testing do indeed exist.…

The website animal-test.procon.org shares how animals are being treated in the Draize Acute Toxicity test. The supposed reason for this experiment is to see if there is irritation caused by shampoos or other cosmetic products. The test involves “…scientists use clips to hold a rabbits’ eyelid open for multiple days, so they cannot blink when products are being tested” (animal-test.procon.org). This barbaric process results in hemorrhaging and blindness. Even more shocking is that if an animal does endure test, they are subject to that treatment again; if they do not recover, then they are killed.…

They believe machines are better for experimental use than animals and they want all, or the majority, of animal testing to stop (@peta). In human history, it was necessary to use animals so they could provide society with knowledge and safety of different chemicals, products, and substances. They didn’t have advanced technology and equipment society has today, so they had to use the resources given to them by nature (About). With new advancements in technology, the against side thinks scientists should stop animal testing because society can not continue and make new progress by using past methods no longer helping to improve society (Torres). It is unacceptable behaviour from people in our modern world today. Even though some animals are needed for medical research for the tests that give us reliable results, cosmetic research is not necessary. By not in this day and age we should know what chemicals people can work with and what chemicals we cannot. We have enough cosmetic products and brands, it is not necessary for cosmetic researchers to go on and test on animals. Animals should have similar rights as people, and we need to learn to share our planet with them.…

These animals are subjected to the very hazardous defects they seek to prevent. With alternative scientific methods already in place, the abolishment of cosmetic animal testing has already been instituted in Europe. The seventh amendment to the European Union Cosmetics Directive prohibited putting animal-tested cosmetics on the market in after 2013 (Fentem, Chamberlain, & Sangster, 2004). Although government inspections are required at some types of animal facilities, the regulatory bodies are closely linked with the industry and may have a shared interest in maintaining the status quo (Frank, 2004). Therefore, the Canadian governments lack of oversight is synonymous with Herbert Spencer’s condemnation for state regulation.…
