Corruption Of Power In The Film X-Men: First Class

Corrupted By Power I believe that the theme of corruption of power applies to the film X-men: First Class. Sebastian Shaw shows this throughout the film, he is very and uses his power for evil. The government also has lots of power and in some cases it is corrupt because of it. Magneto (Eric Lensherr) is corrupted by his power and uses it for evil after he defeats Sebastian Shaw. These characters and people show corruption of power in the film. Sebastian Shaw is a powerful mutant who wants mutants to rule; he is power hungry and will do anything to gets what he wants. At the beginning of the film Shaw is a leader of the Nazis during WWII. He uses the power of his position to kill Eric’s mom in order to expose Eric’s mutant power. Sebastian Shaw wants mutants to rule the world, he wants the humans to go to war and destroy themselves. He uses his mutant powers and other mutants to threaten the government and army generals to start a war. Shaw is a very powerful character and he abuses his power. At the beginning of the film Sebastian Shaw kills his mother, because of what Shaw did Eric is willing to do anything to find and kill Shaw. During his search for Shaw he threatened and even killed people. Eric joins Charles Xavier who is good and is trying to stop war, and stop Shaw. In the end Eric turns on Charles and uses his mutant abilites to kill Shaw. Eric also believes that all humans hate and fear mutants, because of this he wants mutants to rule and to be separated from mutants. When the human armies make peace and turn their missiles on the mutants Eric uses his power and turns them back on the humans. Charles Xavier and his team stops him, but in the end Eric leaves with his own team of mutants. Eric had the ability for good but his power made him
